TAF to display new innovations at Intertextile Shanghai

Thai Acrylic Fiber (TAF), a leading manufacturer of acrylic fibres and the owner of the Birlacril brand, will present its range of specialty acrylic fibres at the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition. The comprehensive platform for apparel fabrics and accessories will be held from September 27-29, 2018, in Shanghai, China.

Changsuo textiles, one of the most famous core spun yarn spinners in China, will jointly participate with TAF in the exhibition with a collection of innovative yarns from their brand Cologeal. The key attraction will be the Radianza fibre – the eco-friendly fibre by Birlacril, the company said in a press release.

Radianza fibre is a ready-to-use gel dyed fibre and comes in a range of vibrant colours. The fibre has excellent colour fastness, consistency, and shade uniformity. Radianza fibre is available in a wide range of colours in fibre form (regular and shrinkable) and in Tow and Tops (regular and high bulk) in a range of deniers. Radianza fibre can be blended with all kinds of fibres or can be spun as 100 per cent.

The most important benefit of Radianza fibre is that it helps to address the increasing threat to the environment and natural resources at various stages in textile processing. Dyeing is always considered to be an issue due to use of lot of water, energy, effluent treatment infrastructure, de-mineralised water, continuous power usage for dye circulation, low productivity rate, and so on.

Due to these issues, governments and various environment bodies are working towards stricter effluent treatment laws and restrictions to overcome these threats, thereby, making the conventional dyeing process a big challenge for the manufacturers.

Radianza fibre prepared by gel dyeing technology – the most environment friendly dyeing process amongst all dyeing methods – is a perfect product to address these challenges. A fabric made from yarns with 100 per cent Radianza fibres would require only 20 per cent of water/energy as compared to conventional dyeing. Moreover, due to no need of dyeing at a yarn or fabric stage, there is no discharge of dye stuff unlike in conventional dyeing where dye stull losses lead to polluted effluent.

“Today our industry is faced with the challenges of making sustainable products that are of the highest quality. Using Radianza fibre in our product range has been very valuable for us to address both these challenges and our customers are also liking the product very much. Our AF Core spun yarns, branded – Cologeal made from Radianza fibre, have colourful shade matching and a perfect hand feel. The fabric made from Cologeal yarn also have a wonderful warm effect. This year, we will launch the end-products made from Cologeal in this exhibition, which are not only sweaters but also in home textile segment. We have developed a new range of blankets with Cologeal yarns which will be a special feature.”

In addition to Radianza fibre, TAF will showcase other specialty fibres like Amicor (anti-bacterial & anti-allergic), Pilbloc (anti-pill), and Warmos (high insulation), and so on. (GK)
